Advocare Supports the Warriors for Warriors Golf Outing
The Advocare Foundation is proud to support the efforts of Warriors for Warriors in helping to prevent veterans from committing suicide.
Pictured to the right are Advocare advocates Michael Fenn, Alex Auclair, and Matt Masciarelli (not pictured Executive Director John Claude Bahrenburg) at the recent Warriors for Warriors benefit golf event.
The Advocare Foundation's mission has always been to support those with special education needs, whether they are children, adults, their respective families, caregivers or those involved with scholarship and education; toward the end of benefiting those handicapped individuals with ongoing educational needs. It has until recently focused on supporting through grants, gifts and loans a number of residential schools who have served these needs.
The Board, seeing its role as dynamic rather than static, recognizes that with changing times have come changing demands. Over the last decade, circumstances have caused the board to enlarge their network of support beyond those residential schools. Many residential schools have closed during this decade.
With this in mind, in addition to their general continuing support of the concept of residential programs, The Foundation has now developed the resources to serve as a repository of information and education, by providing a master calendar of events which focus on special needs, quarterly training seminars, an annual symposium, directories of providers and services, monthly articles of interest and participant forums, and of course ongoing grants for exemplary programs and scholars.
Central to the Foundation’s role is its enhanced website which provides access to all of these services.
Since 1992, the foundation has given away almost ten million dollars in aid to such programs, and even in individual grants, in an effort to create educational opportunities for those with special needs. It is their vision to continue to assist in providing services that are at any given time necessary to meet these needs.
